Dr. Albert Y. Wu, MD, PhD, FACS
Oculoplastic, Orbital & Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Wu earned his MD in Medicine and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington. He completed ophthalmology residency at the Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, and a two-year ASOPRS fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Wu’s work centers on ocular regenerative medicine, focusing on stem cell–based reconstruction of the eyelid, orbit, and ocular surface. His research integrates molecular biology, immunology, and tissue engineering to develop translational therapies that restore vision and ocular function.
Dr. Wu will join the University of Ottawa in 2026 as Associate Professor and Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, where he holds the Tier 2 Clinical Research Chair in Ophthalmology. He previously served on the faculty at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary/Mount Sinai and at Stanford University.
